- Certain structural materials for reinstatements (SMRs) and treated materials for fill (TMFs) may not require the full compaction specified in A8 and may be damaged if over-compacted. Such materials should be placed and compacted in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations with due regard to the requirements of A9.

- FCRs must not be compacted or tamped unless specifically required by the manufacturer. Thereafter, such FCR materials must be placed and compacted in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations with due regard to the requirements in A2.5.3 to A2.5.18.
