- SMRs must comply with the minimum layer thickness and compressive strength (Rc Class) requirements shown in Table A9.1.

- Where the total thickness of SMR exceeds 1000 mm, the minimum strength class requirement of C3/4 must apply to the top 1000 mm with a minimum of C1.5/2 below this depth.

- The test must be carried out by a UKAS (or equivalent) accredited laboratory unless agreed otherwise.
